Do You Need a Blocked Account for USA Student Visas?
Unlike Germany or Canada, which require international students to deposit funds into a blocked account, the United States does not have a blocked account system. Instead, to secure your F-1 Student Visa, you must present liquid financial assets to your university (to get your Form I-20) and to the consular officer at your embassy interview.

1. The I-20 Financial Requirement
Before your US university can issue your Form I-20, you must show that you have liquid funds covering the total estimated cost of attendance for one academic year.

2. What Bank Assets are Accepted by US Embassies?
Embassy officers prefer liquid, immediate assets that can be accessed during your studies.
